Chanchala

Malayalam film music is known for its rich classical, raga based songs.
I stumbled upon this song about 3 years back on Asianet, as I was casually channel surfing. I loved it the very first time I listend to it.I couldn't read any of the song details which were in Malayalam and so had a tough time finding it on the net!
Chitra leaves me dumbfounded with every song of her's and this is no exception. The ease with which her voice meanders through the highs and lows of the song is truely amazing.
I have tried my best to do justice to this wonderful composition, within the constraints here, and the scope of my voice and ability of course. This is my first attempt in Malayalam and I hence sincerely apologise for any mispronunciations. I would be grateful to have corrections and suggestions for improvement.

Song:Chanchala
Music:Mohan Sitara
Singer:Chitra
Film:Ishtam

Sidhuja...Lucky am I indeed to hear you singing this track. I also liked the song too much when i hear it the first time...Nicely rendered to the perfection. I have a request though "NjaattuVeela Kiliyee Paattupaadi Varumo.." is a song by Chitra herself which I request u to sing. By the way your diction of words are excellent. Good job

Sindhuja,

Your classical base comes out/shines real strongly. The starting aalaap is an extremely good effort.

Your brigas are very nicely done. Very good breath control as well. Your voice a little stronger would have been even nicer (-:

Kudos for choosing a very tough song and rendering it in your own style...

Landed here tru Radiolines updataion post..found one of my fav song from chitra "Chanchala".Its a great effort to sing this tough song.I believe the original song was mixed with chitra's seconds for certain lines and swaras.Singing it without doing a sound editing is tough,And you had done a gud effort.I dont feel any error's on your malayalam pronounciation.More malayalam songs lyrics will be available from

www.malayalamsongslyrics.com :)

Great work.Your diction dont have any issues(or its negligible). Thats amazing!.. Brigas came out brilliantly. As Meera said, your classical background is well reflected in this song. Once again Great effort Sindhuja.

Keep posting more..

You seem to sing like an express train. This takes out the bhavam of the song. Listen the original song again.even bhrigas are not perfect.you have a great voice, but no committment to singing.your singing seems to reflect your casual attitude where the endings of the lines are sung casually.be more serious to your music.

Sreejith,Meera,Kiranz,Mad Max,Murali,Pradipji and Ullas, thanks very much.
Ullas,I have not altered the speed of the original track. As for the bhavam and lack of 'seriousness', I shall work on them. Thanks for pointing out.

Very well rendered sindhu..Mohan sithara is a composer who comes out with some brilliant numbers off and on. This is one of those songs which is loveable for Chitra's voice. you have done a very good job.

Looks like I came late here but glad that I did atleast now. :-) What a rendition!! The intro aalaap was amazing and the brigas and the tonal quality of your voice etc are totally wonderful Sindhuja.

Although it is a Chithra song, you have sung it in your own style. You are a pro material.

Thank you Arun, for your inputs.
I do realise the chorus part was out of sync...will take care not to repeat such things in future.
Thanks again :)

Lovely song. This seems quite similar to the song "Radhai manadhil raadhai manadhil" - Jyothika, tabu movie.

Maybe you shud sing both and have them posted together.

Rendume Chitra dhaan singer :)
