Kannalane and O Sajna

An outstanding Rahman composition in the silken voice of Chitra-here is my version of KANNALANE:

Song:Kannalane
Movie:Bombay
Music:A.R.Rahman
Singer:Chitra
Lyrics:Vairamutthu

O SAJNA:

Being a regular at Pradipji's blog since the time I came to know him,I don't know how I missed this one! It was only after recording this song, when I googled it up, did I find it on his blog! And this came to me as as much an intimidation as a pleasant surprise :) - made me think twice if I should post my version of it after his...!
Nevertheless I'm posting it just because I spent hours on it...

Song:O Sajna
Movie:Parakh
Music:Salil Chaudury
Singer:Lata Mangeshkar
Lyrics:Shailendra

Again, due to the constraints of singing in a hostel room, ever in the apprehension of being asked to shut up by people outside :P I've not really been able to let my voice out freely...and do realise that both songs could have been done much better...
Kindly excuse...and please leave your comments :P

Sindhuja,
Kannalane was very good. Yes, the apprehension in your voice is very evident and you have not opened up as in your other songs.
Oo Sajna...well sindhuja, you are intelligent and would know where all you have erred. No need for me to elaborate on those...:-)Just lataji's version again and you will know:-)

Sindhuja,

Kannalane is done really well. You have your own style in singing especially giving emotions.Keep it up. Only thing I felt is like you can try to have more control on certain 'Sangathi's' that you sing(An example is when you sung 'Kaanavillai' in the first line). Not a big deal. Good work..I havent heard O Sajna. Will get hear that too later.

There is something about Kannalane which makes it sound a little different from the original. Good effort!

Hi Sindhuja,
u have a lovely voice! Kannalane was beautifully renendered.
O Sajna, u hv tried all the beautiful murkis but nevertheless, I think u hv to listen to the original a couple of times more to actually get it perfect. Please also work on ur Hindi diction. It makes a lot of difference when u say the words right :)
I can only imagine how hard it must be to record in ur hostel..Keep singing! :)

oh..u touched my heart with kaNNaLanE sindhu. I could hear the same bhavam of Chitra especially in the pallavi. That is an awesome achievement in my opinion. From the tonal quality of your voice, I can now understand which songs are going to suit your voice the best.

You may want to concentrate on "ulai kodhiththidum" pOrtion. sangathigaL ellaam saraLamaa vizaradhu. that is a very good thing.

Now that you are kinda familiar with recording, I am wondering if you will record "yaaradhu sollaamal" and share it will all of us. your tamil has improved a lot and singing is silky. Bhaavam has improved by leaps and bounds. Ideal trime to try yaaradhu.

Sindhuja
I heard Kannalane as well as your soundclick - Manam virumbuthey.

Excellent singing in Manam virumbuthey. I have always wanted to record the song but never got hold of the Karaoke. I think you have sung over the original here (felt that way due to the chorus effect) other than that, you sang so perfectly along with Harini's voice. Good going! I envy you for the ability to sing classical based film songs with such ease!!

Keep it coming....

Sindhuja, beautiful rendition of ‘O sajana’, I am always amazed by people who can effortlessly sing in other languages than their own.. I did not see any problem with the pronunciation, only thing that I noticed was, the song is sung very lightly, as Pradip said, you know what the notes are and how to hit them, now you need to work on with how much intensity and clarity. When you listen to the original song you will notice the difference. I know for sure you will get there within no time…keep it up.
