'Uyire' with Murali Ramanathan- My first duet

Doesn't it feel good to sing and record songs that you've grown up listening to- songs that you would once play incessantly till you know by heart every bit of them, including the interludes and everything... :)
Uyire is one such for me; and yet another of those evergreen, unbeatable classics by Rahman.

Murali Ramanathan is an awesome talent who, luckily for us, entered the blogging world :)
Its amazing how all his renditions exude immense bhavam.
I'm thankful to him for asking me to do this song with him; also thank him for the mixing.
It has been an enjoyable and also a humbling experience.

Here is our version of Uyire :

Song: Uyire Uyire
Movie: Bombay
Music: A.R.Rahman
Lyrics: Vairamutthu
Singers: Hariharan and Chitra

I have had some difficulty singing certain parts of the song and wish I could touch the high notes with more ease...
Kindly leave your feedback.

hi sindhu,

the singing is good (both singers') but i thot the karaoke track could've been better + there was too much echo for both.

Fantastic Sindhuja. I enjoyed it a lot! I couldn't stop repeating it. You have a wonderful voice and you've sung this song so well that he is even better than the original!

Way to go !!

hi sindhuja..

First time to your blog from murali's blog.Awesome singing by you and murali. Why you missed chorus part.Really amazing to hear your voice and nice rendition. The speciality is, you dint mixed the classical in the song.Mostly people who have more classical base, cant do well in light. They used to adopt same style of singing. Its really happy to meet unique kind of voice and talent through blog.

Thanks for the wonderful feast.

Murali..I think you have not sunk in pitch in the pallavi and ist tundu pallavi.....also your rendering needs to be more softer especially in the pallavi. I mean modulation and control Sindhuja...am so happy to hear your voice from a good mic and sound card.. Proper Mixing could have made both your voices more softer...They sound very loud and sharp. Both of you have sung with full emotions....Very Good going. Would love to hear more duets from you. You gel well :-)

Sindhu..I proudly boast that you are a great singer friend of mine. You have developed into such a talent which needs no further grooming but needs only chances to display the talent.

Keep rocking you guys. Try tougher songs like these to showcase your brilliance.

It is a shame that I forgot to appreciate this wonderful singing by recording a comment in your blogs. You guys have done a fantastic job. Kudos !
