Koi raaz-e-dil: taking off from 'Etho rathri'!

Here's an Urdu version of the Malayalam song "Etho rathri" written by Ajay Chandran in my voice. Writing alternate lyrics wouldn't be so easy I suppose- I think what Ajay has done is commendable!
Your feedback'd be much appreciated. Thanks!

Song: Koii raaz-e-dil
Music: M. Jayachandran
Lyrics: Ajay Chandran
Singer: Sindhuja Bhakthavatsalam

And here are the lyrics:

koii raaz-e-dil bol gayi aankhen
saare ashq mujhe deke gayi aankhen
yoon hii sochti hoon pass ho wo aankhen
jaane kis jahaan ko choD gayi aankhen
mere sannaaton ko, dil ke andheron ko, dekhe na haaye wo aankhen
teri aankhen

koii raaz-e-dil bol gayi aankhen
saare ashq mujhe deke gayi aankhen

wo tere saath ke chaar din kya
umr se baDke wo lahma lamhaa
dil ke paas the, dil kii manzilen
aankhon mein sapnon ke saaye
har lamhaa

koii raaz-e-dil bol gayi aankhen
saare ashq mujhe deke gayi aankhen
yoon hii sochtii hoon pass ho wo aankhen
jaane kis jahaan ko choD gayi aankhen

bekhayaalii mein yoon saans loongii
zindagii kii sazaa kaaT loongii
merii hasraten, terii aahaTen
yaadon mein Dhal gaye saare
tere saaye

koii raaz-e-dil bol gayi aankhen
saare ashq mujhe deke gayi aankhen
yoon hii sochtii hoon pass ho wo aankhen
jaane kis jahaan ko choD gayi aankhen
mere sannaaton ko, dil ke andheron ko, dekhe na haaye wo aankhen
teri aankhen

(Listen to the original Malayalam version (in the movie Bus Conductor) sung by Chitra here.)

felt like the lyrics was forced into the music...it lacked the free flow of something was holding back...may be cause i have already heard chitra "Etho Rathri" ....

Fantastic voice! Really great work and beautiful lyrics. Your song lingers for a long time even after it is over. Can you tell me how you separate the music from original song?

Now I will catch hold of a Malayali friend and listen to Etho Rathri. Thanks!

I have heard the original ..and I like Yesduas version more than chitra's.

This was a great idea and nice singing.

Sindhu - apart from some strain in the high notes in the beginning of the charanams, the rendition is extremely pleasant. Kudos !

Since it is a combined project with Ajay, I suggest you expand the post with his lyrics (either transliterated or devanagari unicode fonts). That will help us listeners to follow better.

Thanks much, to all of you!
Murali: yes, I was thinking of adding the lyrics myself. Thanks for prompting me to do so now.
Anish: We dont "separate" the music track from the vocals. You get ready karaoke tracks on the web (some free, some which have to be bought) and in music stores.

I forgot to give due credit to the person who translated the poetry to urdu. fabulous job! ajay chnadran?

and about the tune, somehow the movement of it takes me to the ananda bhairavi kinda mood!

Sumi, many thanks. Its not a translation though. I just used the tune and wrote a whole new song in urdu :)

This is a wonderful concept ..I heard one such song from Ajay earlier - "Tanhaa Lamhon Mein" which was exceptional ..You have done very well here..I thought modulations of "Aankhen" could be improved at few places ..:-)

Cheers,
-Vishal

this song has been in loop since last 1hour. Cant stop marveling at it, be it the composition or the rendition or the lyrics. Absolutely brilliant. If only I were a film maker, I would have taken it. Perhaps I will.. some day :-)
