Naina Neer Bahaye

Naina neer bahaye from Water is a song very, very dear to me - and easily one of Sadhana's very best. I love how Rahman brings in such a calming and ethereal feel to it. Here's my take. I haven't done a particularly great job of creating the karaoke track but this being a vocals heavy song, hopefully that can be excused. Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Song: Naina neer bahaye
Film: Water
Music: A. R. Rahman
Lyrics: Sukhwinder Singh
Original singer: Sadhana Sargam

Beautiful singing! And as you mentioned, this is one of Sadhana Sargam's best songs and you definitely did justice to it.

nice blog, sindhuja. you have done an amazing job with the song, i must say. today was one of 'those days' for me- have had this song on loop since 9 am this morning and have been in a trance although it can get very noisy in my home- i have a 4 yr old daughter, sahana (yes, i love the raga, and hence her name) and twin boys(read powerhouses) rishi and arjun. they are all of 2 and yet have me wrapped around their invisible 'vaal'. i hail from a family of singers(no, not professional, not all of them anyway) and music lovers and have had the privilege of being exposed to a variety of music. my children are very young but all three of them show a great liking for music. arjun has an uncanny ability to hum a couple of lines (in his own gibberish words) in perfect pitch after listening to the song (any song) i want to send the kids to a good music school here in fremont. do you or your guriji have any recommendations? thank you in advance. i hope you would read my message and respond. sorry for a really long post btw. and i love smilies too :-)

Thanks very much, Archana Hari Iyer - could you email me at sindhuja dot b at gmail dot com? I might know of teachers in Fremont... Very nice to hear your kids' interest in music at such young ages!
